The Shelby Materials team has recently grown, and we’re excited to announce the addition of Tommy Luce to our sales staff. Tommy has a passion for working with customers, and helps us further the Shelby IMPACT with a commitment to provide quality products with precision and expertise. Meet Tommy Luce
Tommy Luce lives in Downtown Indianapolis and works primarily out of the Indianapolis Sales Office on Emerson Avenue in Beech Grove. He graduated from Purdue University this year with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. While attending Purdue, he was a member of the Big Ten men’s basketball team for all four years.
We are especially proud to have another Boilermaker join the Shelby team, since the Haehl family has a special tradition of Purdue pride dating back to the ‘30s. We’ve had dozens of Purdue graduates join the Shelby team over the years, with five Haehl family alums currently on staff. Shelby has maintained a connection with Purdue through multiple custom blend projects on the Boilermaker athletic fields and world-renowned golf courses, including the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course.
Tommy’s Current Role
As a Shelby sales representative, Tommy works directly with commercials and residential customers, helps manage concrete pours on job sites, and problem-solves any potential issues that may arise. He has been working in this role since June 2020, and is doing a great job so far!
“If there is anything the customer needs or I can help them with then I try to assist them the best I can,” he says. “I also try to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers so they continue to use us for their pours.”
Outside of Work
When he’s not working with customers or managing job sites, he likes to “stay active and play basketball when I can.” He enjoys serving students in the community and sharing his athletic skills as an assistant basketball coach at Greenwood High School. He says, “I also enjoy hanging out with my friends and family.”
