Shelby Materials is gearing up for another exciting season of Touch-A-Truck events across Central Indiana, and we can’t wait to see your family there!
There’s nothing quite like watching a child’s face light up when they see one of our big yellow and blue ready mix trucks roll into an event. For many kids, these trucks are larger-than-life heroes of the road.
Touch-A-Truck events are designed to spark curiosity and hands-on learning. Instead of just waving as a truck drives by, kids can sit in the driver’s seat, turn the steering wheel, check out the controls and ask our drivers their biggest (or smallest!) questions. Our team loves sharing what it’s like to deliver concrete throughout our communities and play a part in building the roads, schools, homes and businesses around us.
While the trucks are the main attraction, these events offer so much more. Touch-A-Truck events encourage tactile learning. Kids see, hear and touch the equipment, creating memorable, multi-sensory experiences, and parents love snapping photos of their little ones behind the wheel. It’s a simple, screen-free way to spend time together and make lasting memories.
We’re proud to serve Central Indiana, and these events give us the opportunity to connect with the families who make our work so meaningful. Shelby Materials plans to participate in several Touch-A-Truck events this year, and we’re excited to bring our ready mix trucks directly to you. Whether your child is a longtime truck fan or just discovering their fascination with big equipment, we invite you to stop by, say hello and experience the fun firsthand.

- April 18 from 10 A.M. – 12 P.M. at Shelby County YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day
- June 6th from 11 A.M. – 2 P.M. at Spruce Ridge Apartments in Columbus
- June 17 from 4:30 – 7:30 P.M. at Grand Park Sports Campus (Sensory Friendly Hour 4:30 – 5:30 P.M.)
- September 19 from 10 A.M. – 2 P.M. at Johnson County Park Shelter Area (Sensory Friendly Hour 10 – 11 A.M.)
