People often underestimate the depth of the pavement they are placing. One must take a straight edge over the work area to measure the depth frequently. Ordering too little is inconvenient and expensive for everyone. The delay which comes when waiting to finish the pour can cause a cold joint, cracking problems, color problems, finishing problems, and much lost time.
When calling Shelby Materials to place an order for concrete, be prepared to answer several key questions that will help us get you the best mix for your application. These items include:
- Customer name and delivery location
- Date and time concrete is needed
- Number of cubic yards of concrete needed
- Type of pour the job is (footings, slab, walks, driveway, steps)
- What type of mix you would like (P.S.I. rated mix, decorative, footing)
- Inside or outside pour
- Any other special instructions or questions you might have for us to provide the best product possible
