Sealing & Waterproofing

It is important that concrete, especially newly poured concrete be protected from the winter freeze-thaw cycle if possible. Water will penetrate concrete, and if it is not properly cured, spalling or surface scaling may occur. De-icing chemicals and salt from vehicles add stress to the surface of the slab.

A penetrating sealer applied several months after the slab is poured will seal the pores of the concrete and prevent most spalling and surface damage. Your Shelby Materials sales representative will help you get the correct product for your concrete.
