Process and Storm Water Recycling

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has mandated that process water may not leave our plant locations and enter the runoff waters of the state. Few ready mixed concrete producers adhere to the guideline. Shelby Materials captures both its storm water and process water and recycles them into our batching process. For our innovative and environmentally sound practices, Shelby Materials received national recognition when it was awarded the Environmental Excellence Award by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association. We also received the Indiana Governors Award for Environmental Excellence because of our environmental stewardship.
